We stage work to maintain safe egress, file ESA notifications where required, and recycle fluorescent/HID lamps through approved facilities.

ESA-Licensed Electrical Work

Electrical work is performed by ECRA/ESA-licensed contractors and inspected as required. We file ESA notifications, label circuits, and commission lighting to code on every retrofit.

WSIB-Covered Crews & Certified Training

Technicians are WSIB-covered and trained in Working at Heights, OHSA compliance, and scissor/boom-lift operation. Lockout/tagout and job-hazard analyses are completed before work starts.

Proper Disposal & Recycling (Fluorescent/HID)

Old lamps and ballasts are packaged, transported, and recycled via approved facilities. You receive disposal documentation with your closeout package. No mercury left on site.

Low-Disruption, ESA-Ready Install

We schedule after-hours or phased installs, maintain safe egress and signage, and keep areas clean. Final handover includes ESA paperwork (when applicable), cut sheets, and warranties.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are LED potlights and how are they different from traditional recessed lighting?

LED potlights are low-profile, energy-efficient fixtures that sit flush with the ceiling. Unlike older recessed cans, they don’t require a large housing or extra trim, making them easier to install and more modern-looking.

Are potlights suitable for commercial buildings?

Yes. Potlights are perfect for offices, hallways, lobbies, multi-unit residential buildings, and any space needing clean, uniform lighting without bulky fixtures.

Can potlights be installed in concrete ceilings?

Yes. We offer specialized surface-mount or ultra-thin potlights that can be securely installed on concrete or slab ceilings with minimal disruption.

Are the potlights dimmable?

Absolutely. All our LED potlights support dimming, and we can install compatible switches or smart controls for full brightness control.

What colour temperature options are available?

We offer 2700K (warm), 3000K (soft white), 4000K (neutral), and 5000K (daylight) options. We’ll help you pick the right look for your space.

Do I need a permit to install potlights?

Permits are typically not required for retrofit installations, but we follow ESA guidelines and ensure all work is compliant with Ontario Electrical Code.

Can potlights be installed in drop ceilings?

Yes. We have specific potlights designed for T-bar/drop ceilings that install cleanly and provide excellent light spread.

Will the new potlights match my existing decor?

Yes. We offer white, black, and brushed metal trims, along with various bezel sizes to match your ceiling and design preferences.

How long do LED potlights last?

Most fixtures are rated for 50,000+ hours of use, which translates to 10–15 years under normal conditions.

Is there a warranty included?

Yes. All potlights come with a manufacturer warranty (typically 5 years), and we stand by our installation workmanship.
