Why It Matters

Why Upgrading Lighting Matters for Non-Profit Spaces

01

Efficient Lighting for Indoors and Outdoors

Whether it's offices, common areas, hallways, or parking lots — we retrofit your entire facility with reliable, long-lasting LED fixtures. Our solutions include potlights, flat panels, wall packs, and outdoor floods that are durable, energy-efficient, and code-compliant.

02

Improved Safety, Comfort & Accessibility

Well-lit environments reduce the risk of accidents and help create a safe, inclusive space for all users. From stairwells to walkways to community rooms, we design lighting that improves visibility without adding glare or heat.

03

Low-Cost Smart Lighting Controls

We can install motion sensors, photocells, or timed switches to reduce waste and automate your system — all while keeping costs low. With LEDs, you'll save month after month, freeing up more of your budget for your mission.

Compliance & Safety for Ontario Lighting Upgrades

All LumaEnergy projects are completed by ECRA/ESA-licensed electrical contractors to the Ontario Electrical Safety Code. Our crews are WSIB-covered, trained in Working at Heights, lockout/tagout and lift operation. We stage work to maintain safe egress, file ESA notifications where required, and recycle fluorescent/HID lamps through approved facilities.

ESA-Licensed Electrical Work

Electrical work is performed by ECRA/ESA-licensed contractors and inspected as required. We file ESA notifications, label circuits, and commission lighting to code on every retrofit.

WSIB-Covered Crews & Certified Training

Technicians are WSIB-covered and trained in Working at Heights, OHSA compliance, and scissor/boom-lift operation. Lockout/tagout and job-hazard analyses are completed before work starts.

Proper Disposal & Recycling (Fluorescent/HID)

Old lamps and ballasts are packaged, transported, and recycled via approved facilities. You receive disposal documentation with your closeout package. No mercury left on site.

Low-Disruption, ESA-Ready Install

We schedule after-hours or phased installs, maintain safe egress and signage, and keep areas clean. Final handover includes ESA paperwork (when applicable), cut sheets, and warranties.

The process of getting a quote, applying for a rebate, and installation was seamless. The work was well done, and the customer service was excellent. A special thank you to Faysal ! Highly recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you really provide lighting fixtures at cost for non-profits?

Yes. As part of our commitment to supporting the community, we offer non-profit organizations LED fixtures at cost with no markup — helping you upgrade affordably.

What types of non-profit buildings do you work on?

We’ve completed lighting retrofits for food banks, shelters, places of worship, community centres, group homes, and admin offices — anywhere energy savings and safety matter.

Can lighting upgrades help us lower operating costs?

Absolutely. Most non-profits see a 50–70% drop in lighting electricity use, plus lower HVAC costs and fewer maintenance needs — freeing up more of your annual budget.

Is there funding or rebates available for non-profits?

Yes. Many non-profits qualify for Save on Energy Midstream rebates, and we’ll guide you through the process with our trusted distributor partners.

Can you upgrade both indoor and outdoor lighting?

Yes. We upgrade offices, hallways, multi-purpose rooms, stairwells, washrooms, as well as parking lots, exterior wall packs, and signage lighting.

Do you offer after-hours installation to avoid disruption?

Yes. We can schedule the work on evenings or weekends if needed — especially for community spaces or shared-use facilities.

Will the new lighting meet code and safety standards?

Definitely. All fixtures are CSA-approved and installed by certified electricians following Ontario Electrical Code and ESA guidelines.

What’s the lifespan of the LED fixtures you install?

Most LED fixtures last 50,000–100,000 hours, which means 10–20 years of use depending on daily runtime — with reduced maintenance and no bulbs to change.

Can we prioritize critical areas like entrances or hallways first?

Of course. We can phase your project to start with safety-critical zones first and expand as budget allows — no full-commitment required.

Do you provide documentation or support for board approvals?

Yes. We’ll provide a formal proposal, projected savings, and any details needed to present to your board, grant providers, or facilities team.
